CANTHOPEXY

Canthopexy is the aesthetic procedure that will beautify your eyes, making them more attractive and exotic. This surgery consists of lifting the external eye angle; it is ideal for people with tired and very round eyes. Canthopexy will make you forget that sad expression and will make your eyes glow.

SURGERY

Cathopexy is a simple procedure, and there are several techniques to perform it. The surgeon will pick the more appropriate technique for each case. All techniques are similar; the most widely used is the one we are explaining below:

The doctor makes a 1-cm incision in one upper eyelid crease, to conceal the scar. Through this incision, the surgeon will access the canthal tendon that holds the edge of the lower eyelid to tighten and fix it together with the membrane that covers the orbital ridge, and then he will suture the incision. The duration of this surgery depends on each particular case.

Anesthesia, hospitalization and recovery

We use local anesthesia with supplemental sedation. Since it is an ambulatory surgery, you do not have to stay at the clinic, you may return home after a short rest.

A slight inflammation of the treated area will be visible for three or four days, and then it will gradually subside. From three to six weeks later, you may exhibit your new and more seductive eyes.

Possible complications

Plastic surgery is not an exact science. Although this type of operation has practically no side effects, we must take into account the possible risks and complications that may arise, such as:

Asymmetries: with our doctors’ experience and the accurate diagnoses, they are very unlikely and corrigible.

Accumulation of fluids.

Changes in skin sensitivity.

Skin discoloration and/or excessive swelling.

All patients must go through a pre-surgical process, and must undergo the following tests:

Complete blood and urine tests, radiology, cardiology, and pulmonology tests, among others. These tests reduce the possibility of irregularities during surgery and subsequently.
